E-commerce with live inventory synchronization
A full-stack store where stock levels update live for every shopper over WebSockets — no refresh needed.

The challenge
In a typical store, the stock a customer sees can be stale: an item sells out, but other shoppers still see it as available until they reload.
The store also needed fast product discovery — categories, search and spec-based filters — and a cart that always reflects current prices.
The system
A MERN application with a WebSocket layer that pushes inventory changes to every connected client the moment they happen.
What I built
- Dynamic product management with categories and detailed specifications
- Live stock status broadcast to all open storefronts via WebSockets
- Search, sorting and filters by price, processor, memory and storage
- Cart with quantities and running totals
- REST API with Node.js, Express and MongoDB
How it works
- 1ChangeAn order or admin update changes a product's stock.
- 2PersistThe API writes the change to MongoDB.
- 3BroadcastThe server emits an event over WebSockets.
- 4UpdateEvery open storefront updates stock status instantly.

Outcome
- Shoppers see the stock that actually exists, in real time.
- The same event-driven pattern powers live dashboards, notifications and agent-triggered workflows.
